Hi group,

When I saw the release date for A Breath of Snow and Ashes, I started
re-reading the series. I just started Drums of Autumn last night. I am
always surprised how I can sucked right back into the story and not be able
to put it down even though I've read them it all before.

I guess that shows how great a story teller she is. I can't wait for
September!

Got to make dinner. I'll check back later.

I agree with you. I have read through that first book at least 10
times...maybe even more. I always restart the series when a new book comes
out, and sometimes I just read the whole series for the heck of it. I just
love it so much!! I too can't wait for September, but haven't started the
series again yet. I am taking a college course in 3 weeks, and we meet 3
hours a day 5 days a week, and the homework is hellacious. Once that ends,
I think I will start the series again. Now if I can just get to reading the
copy I ordered before my mom gets her greedy hands on it! ;-)

Well, good luck with your class and maybe you should hide your book
somewhere so your mom can't find it. I'm going to read mine before I even
tell my husband that it is out so I don't have to fight him for it. I've
gotten so many of my friends hooked on this series but it kind of stinks
because then they always want to borrow my copies. I lost Dragonfly and
Voyager that way to a former co-worker. I had to buy new copies and I
really don't care for the new cover art. I tried to order an old copy of
Dragonfly on ebay but when I received it, it was the new cover. I could
have returned it but I didn't feel like going through the hassel so I just
kept it and read it anyway.

Oh, well. It's not what's on the outside that's important, right?

I bet the group will be buzzing in September. Hope to chat with you again
then.

I know exactly what you mean. I have bought no less than 5 Outlanders.
Each time it seemed like it was a new cover. I once upon a time had the
hardbacks. Those have long since been "borrowed" and never returned.
However, I never have, and never will, loan out my Outlandish Companion. It
is a signed copy!!

My husband got me a hardback signed copy of Outlander and I do have all the
others in hardback as well. I know how you feel about not loaning them out
now. I still may try to get a copy of Dragonfly with the original cover
just to have.

Right now two of my friends are reading the series and I have one other
friend who I think will enjoy the series too but I haven't seen her for a
couple of months. She is getting divorced and just moved back to PA from
out west. Anyway, I should give her a call today.

Back to work. The laundry is calling.

It is so interesting to hear you guys - I keep losing my copies of the books
to friends as well...I have bought Outlander so many times now that I am
starting to think I should just buy two and keep one and use the other one
for lending out.

I don't think DG knows how often this happens. Maybe we can get dealer
prices on our replacements from now on? lol

Hi Alida, hello KL, greetings K&R, good to see you again Debi. : ) It's nice
seeing real people in here. Like all of you I reread the entire series just
before a new release. Guess my late summer reading will be a no-brainer,
lol.

Looking forward to seeing everyone around here.

Hi Kim,

I'm about 300 pages or so into The Fiery Cross right now. I guess I'll be
finished way before September. I should have waited a little longer to
start the series but I wasn't sure how long it would take me to get through
them all. I've got four kids so they keep me pretty busy and I usually only
read at night before bed. Most of the time I fall asleep with my finger in
the book!

My husband just finished Outlander but I loaned my copy of Dragonfly to a
friend of mine so he's waiting for her to finish with it so he can continue
with the series too. I also got another friend hooked on the series and I
think she's on Voyager now.

I have lost a couple of copies to people I've loaned them to and I think
Diana should give all of us a discount when we have to repurchase books that
we've lost that way. I also should get a finder's fee for all the new
people I've introduced to this series. Wouldn't that be nice?

Happy reading!

I don't know if I'll review the series again before the new book comes out.
I've only read them about 10 times each!;-) I am working on learning Scots
Gaelic. A group of us got together and got the Teach Yourself book and cd's
and meet once a week. Maybe it's slower than if we actually had some to
teach us, but it is fun. Maybe I'll actually understand some of the Gaelic
in the book this time around;-)
