Just saw Troy the other day. Sean Bean, who is in the movie playing
Odysseus, and also played Boromir in the LOTR trilogy, would be PERFECT as a
40-ish Jamie, for example, when Clare comes back and finds him working in a
print shop. He is a real hottie, red hair, tall, imposing presence, you
couldn't ask for a better actor.

As far as Geillis goes, I think the perfect actress to play her would be the
lady who plays Marguerite on Arthur Conan Doyle's The Lost World. She is SO
materialistic, practically lights up at the sight of any gemstones, it's a
perfect fit for that character.

I suggested a few years back that if he were still alive, Peter Lorre would
have made the perfect Master Raymond. Oh well, with virtual reality, maybe
someday Hollywood special effects can pull that one off.

Anyone have any other candidates for this fictional cast?

I think Sean Bean IS an older Jamie!! I posted that a while back after
seeing the last LOTR movie. And, yes, he is gorgeous and is just what I use
to picture when I read the later wee buiks!

Now I recognize the guy! Have seen him in a few roles. I guess at my first
thought was that I'd only seen him in bad guy roles - how could he be Jamie?
But now that I've seen some shots of him, I can see him doing Jamie. I just
need to get my head around the fact that he doesn't do just BAD guy roles!
I haven't seen LOTR -none of them - by the way - just doesn't interest me.

Colleen,

You might want to check out the last in the LOTR series. His character is
not a bad guy, IMO. He's a very sympathetic sort. And very good looking
(very Jamie-like!)
