I finished A Breath Of Snow and Ashes this morning. It's good to be a
speed reader..except for realizing I now have to wait longer than
anyone for the next one!

I think it's much better that The Fiery Cross. The pace never lets up,
and she ties up some loose ends...and unravels a lot more, of course.

I can't wait for some more of you to finish it so we can discuss.

Thanks for not posting any spoilers! And I'm happy to hear that it's better
than FC. Can't wait to get into it!

I am slowly and methodically making my way through it. I'm trying to savor
every nuance. Up to about page 130 or so. It helps that life is pretty busy
right now, keeping me from being able to sit down long enough to read more
than 15 pages at a time.:)

I just finished it yesterday and I totally agree. I had a hard time with
parts of Drums and Fiery Cross (they seemed to drag a bit here and there)
but this one was great! I loved finally having some things explained. I
can't believe we have to start the waiting all over again! Anyone have any
info on the title of the next book and whether or not it will, in fact, be
the last the one of the series? I hope that she continues to write some of
things that she had talked about, like a prequel about Ellen and Brian and a
book that tells more about Master Raymond's life.

Feel free to email me off-list if you want to discuss anything without
spoiling it for others.

I'm still only on about page 250, but I was home for 2 hours by myself
today. I ended up crying (not sobbing, but tears in my eyes) for a good 4
pages.

God, that woman can write. I hope it never ends. I'm liking this one a lot
more than I did FC.

Lawdylawdylawdy................ I can hardly wait to get into ABOSAA! I'm
about 1/2 done FC (first re-read since first time read), and I wanted to
have the story fresh in me heid when I started the next one. Hearing all of
you talk about how great the book is, makes me want to stay up all night to
finish FC so that I can get into BOSAA!! (G)

Well I sure know I stayed up many nights to finish ABOSAA, even the last
night, with a flu bug or something knocking me down, I was reading the
last of it....wasn't going to let a mere thing like a raging fever and
nauseau stop me...LOL

I finished it a few days ago. Such a lovely book. Now, I want to go
back and read Drums and Cross again. I have the first trilogy pretty
firm in my mind, but the second one, I need a refresher.

I finished it! I just loved it. It was a little slow during the first
half but the second half more than made up for it. After finishing the
book you can look back and see how she was slowly building the plot
from the very first. Brilliant! =0)
I was under the assumption that this was the final book. I'm fairly
jumping up and down with happiness that there might be another.
If it comes out in the next two years that will give me enough time to
read the first 6 oh say 3 or 4 times more. =0)

Lealah,

This was posted by Colleen Lill. I thought you might be as excited as I was when I read this.

Hi All,

Herself was in Edmonton last nite to promote ABOSAA. And she was awesome!
This is the 2nd time that I have seen her and this time, it was up close and
in person too (was sitting in the front row)! For the first 40 min or so,
she talked about how she got into writing and how the idea of writing the
book came about. It all started with a man in a kilt, who then morphed into
a 6ft man with red hair! And that was 15 years ago that Outlander was first
published.

She assured us that there is at least one more book and possibly TWO to the
series. The books have been optioned 4 times to be made into a miniseries,
but nothing has come of the options. Then she read a few pages from the new
book, a scene with Jamie and Ian visiting an Indian village (don't worry, I
won't be saying anything more - ie a spoiler!). I'm ashamed to say that
I've only read a few pages of the wee buik and that's when I was standing in
line last nite to have the 3 books with me autographed. I also had my
picture taken with her - second time too!

I'm surprised at myself that I'm taking my time about getting into the
book - just wanting to savour it I guess.

I finished 2 weeks ago, I got the impression from the read that this
would probably be the last Jamie / Claire book.
