The Steven King Group just had this thread. I picked up some new titles to look
for. My favorite 3 are.

The Stand - Steven King (get the second uncut version, if you get lost rent the
mini series) This one will become a part of you like Herself's books. Not a
horror book really but definetly a saga.

The Jean Auel Series starting with Clan of the Cave Bear

Insomnia - Steven King, not horror either. A long saga.

The Stand is always at the top of my list. His absolute best...ever.

After that is the entire Dark Tower series.

Third fave, besides DG's books...hard to say...I have so many faves.

Great idea, I know I am always looking for new book suggestions, to tide me
over to DG's next!

Hmmm, I will cheat a little, and in no particular order:

"To Kill a Mockingbird", Harper Lee

"She's Come Undone", Wally Lamb

My new favourite author, who I actually first heard about here, is Juliet
Marillier. Her latest book, "Foxmask", is one of my favourites by her, tied
with "Son of the Shadows", part 2 of the Sevenwaters Trilogy.

A couple of other favourite authors: Roddy Doyle and Alexander McCall Smith

I read "The Stand" way back in high school. It didn't really affect me in
any way, good or bad. I was just relieved to finish it! Perhaps I will dig
it up and give it another try.
