Another timetravel highland author

I was browsing tonite in Amazon to see if they are pre-ordering A Breath....
and saw another author - Karen Marie Moning.

She has written 5 or 6 books about highland warriors - very much the romance
novels. They are written up on the romance novels critics/review websites.
Has anyone read any of her books? Are they really the full-blown bodice
rippers? Or is there some meat to the stories? Are they books you can read
and finish in an evening?

I haven't posted in quite awhile - have been in the process of a move that
has taken 6 months to complete! But am finally settled into the new home
and am looking forward to getting back into the wee buiks and reading the
new one!

No Colleen, I haven't read any of those books. I'm not much into the romance
types, though I have run across some that were quite good. One recently is
"The Lily Brand" by Sandra Schwab. She is a writer on the Ladies of
Lallybroch Literary Forum and she recently had her first novel published.
Despite the romance category, it was very good. Plus, I feel like I kind of
'know' her, so that makes it even more exciting.
If you like Civil War books (and even if you don't, they aren't too heavy on
war and battles) Owen Parry's series about Abel Jones is very good. I
preorder his new ones, I like them that much.
Anybody else have any book reccommendations while we wait?;-)
Congratulations on the move, Colleen. Someday, when I'm not so poor, I'll
move into a better house, better neighborhood, all that stuff...

I have read them and they aren't bad - not nearly as good as the Outlander
series obviously, but not bad for a quick fun read.
Thanks for the other recommendations I will try them out too.

I enjoyed all the books with the exception of book 2. These books are
based more on erotic than story IMO.

I have read several of these. Unlike the Outlander series, the Karen Moning
book heroes are not exactly pure human people for at least 3 of the books.
At least two books use standing stones for time travel. There is some
explicit sex, a very slight use of the "F" word, but appropriate for the
situation, not as an explitive in normal speech. I found the books
interesting enough to read one twice, several years apart. Try to start at
the beginning of the series. They are shorter than the Fraser saga books,
but I guess reading in an evening would depend on how late you go to bed
and how quickly you read. Might be possible.
