If you could cast some of the characters in a movie, who would you cast?

Hi Angel...

The only one I'm sure of would be Alex Kingston (from ER) as Claire.

Maybe Liam Neeson as middle-aged Jamie, but don't know who for the young
one.

for Jamie:

The red-headed actor who was in the TV movie Julius Caesar within the past
year. He played the leader of the folks who were barricaded by Caesar.

I agree on Alex Kingston for Claire. Since the first book, that has
been who I have mentally envisioned the entire time. Nicole Kidman
for Bree (maybe an older Bree) but fits the part. Orlando Bloom for
Roger. Danny Devito for Raymond. Kirstie Alley for Gillian.

I can see him as Jamie. He definitely has the bit too long nose and the
correct eye and hair color.

Desktop DesignsI think the best Brianna is Laura Prepon that plays on That 70's Show. The best Fergus is Rider Strong that used to play on Boy Meets World. I can't imagine who Jamie might be, but maybe Brendan Fraser could work. At least I can see him in a kilt <vbg>

Desktop DesignsI don't know about Rider Strong for Fergus' part. Could he do a credible accent? Likely not, he's just too American. Needs to be more continental looking, after all, he was born in a French whorehouse.

I like Laura Prepon too for Brianna.

I've always thought that a younger Pierce Brosnan would make an excellent Frank/Black Jack Randall. I've seen him acting with a really hard look to his face and he's entirely credible.

Any ideas for some of the other characters? What about Geilie/Gillian Duncan? Dougal? Ian? Jenny? Young Ian? Colmn? Roger Wakefield? Rev Wakefield? oooh - any ideas for Master Raymond?

Desktop DesignsI kind of picture Nicole Kidman as Geilie (weird, I know) and Renee Zellweger as Laoghaire (even weirder, yet). I guess I don't watch that much tv or go to the movies. And most of the actors I picture while I read are so much older that they wouldn't be good choices as they are now (Ian McShane*Lovejoy* as Dougal, Debra Winger as Jenny, etc.)

I still vote for David Wenham as an older Jamie.

I think Heath Ledger (with red hair instead of his blonde, of course)
would be a good young Jamie. At least since I saw him in "The patriot"
the last time, when I was thinking about this same issue... but that's
just an opinion of a lurker from Germany. ;-)
